SiaVASH Farahani (WGA) is an Iranian-American writer, director, and producer. born in Tehran, forged in refugee camps in Norway, and built in Los Angeles.
A child of war and displacement, he found refuge and purpose in stories. That journey led him to the USC School of Cinema, where he sold his first screenplay as an undergrad and began a 25 year career in the industry.
His produced credits include Dune: Prophecy (HBO), The Walking Dead: WORLD BEYOND (AMC), and Blood & Treasure (CBS) as well as numerous original script sales and writing assigNments At MAJOR STUDIOS like Disney, paramount, COlumbia, Miramax, Warner Bros, and amazon.
Alongside his own work, he has spent the last 15 years teaching at USC SCHOOL OF CINEMATIC ARTS, mentoring the next generation of storytellers. His students have gone on to become successful writers, directors, producers, and executives across the industry, earning honors ranging from the Nicholl Fellowships to awards at Sundance, Cannes, and the Academy Awards.
He believes story is more than A craft. It is a torch passed on to illuminate the darkness, give voice to the voiceless, and shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
